Views of Baalbek

During the 19th century several explorers visited Baalbek. Usually they made drawings of the site which later were published. Here below some pictures, every time showing (parts of) the Temple of the Sun which actually consists of two temples: the Temple of the Jupiter and the Temple of Bacchus, though not every time taken from the same viewpoint.
